Propylene Oxide (PO) is a highly reactive, colorless, highly flammable, liquefied organic bond which is a basic component for various applications. Propylene Oxide is mainly used for the production of propylene glycol, but also as an intermediate for the production of polyether polyols for polyurethane foams. Propylene Oxide is also used for the production of carbonates, amines, and ether. As a basic product PO is used in the starch industry, for the production of non-ionic tensides (textiles), in the dying industry, and for the separation of crude oil emulsions.
